Why the World Race?

Wow, these past three and a half years have been a journey. If you were to ask me in the beginning of it all what I saw myself doing, I would have not responded with any of it. But that is the beauty of God. “A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps” Proverbs 16:9. The Lord has shown me through uncomfortable situations, community, shutting doors that I fought so hard to keep open and pushing me to let go of things which I did everything I could to hold on to, that this life isn’t about me proving myself or begging God to follow me where I want to go. This life is about boasting in Jesus (Psalm 34:2) and trusting in HIS plan.

The Lord has stretched me in this big time through out college, and as I look book, I can see how each time has prepared me for this next season. Through a lot of refining and trials the Lord has placed on my heart the word “faith”. This semester I have had the JOY of reading through a book with one of my best friends called, “What Happens When Women Walk In Faith”. This book has challenged and refined the word faith for me and has encouraged me to lean into the Lord’s plan for me, while giving him every fear and insecurity. I had no idea that this book would play a part in the next chapter of my life. With a lot of prayer and letting go, the Lord has led me to take this next step in my walk with Christ and journey!

All this being said, I will be leaving for the World Race in October 2020! I have a HUGE heart and passion for people and their stories. I have accumulated throughout the years a big appreciation for culture and how each individual’s circumstances and background play a role in their story and who they are. I have had the opportunity these past three years to share the Gospel with girls in my sorority, at work, and on the beach in Panama City Beach. Each time, the Lord has stirred something deep in my heart and has shown me the eternal importance of sharing the Good News with all who will listen.

On the World Race we will stay in host homes and will partner with a ministry in each country we visit. Walking along side with their ministry, serving them and the people of that country while sharing the Gospel. My prayer for this trip is that I would rely on the Word of God alone, embrace the different spiritual gifts he has has given me and everyone on my team, as well as leave space to experience God-whatever that may look like in this season of my life.

Matthew 28:16-20 “Then the eleven disciples went to Galille, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him, but some doubted. Then jesus cam to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of age.” The Lord has called us to love the nations and has given us each a unique role in that. Some are called to go and others are called to stay and help send.

If any of this resonates with you and you would like to be apart in this journey. I would love to invite you to be on my support team! I will need a lot of prayer as I prepare this year to leave my friends, family and home. As well as prayer that the Lord will continue to challenge and mold the posture of my heart. I would also love to invite you to subscribe to my blog and receive updates as I prepare to go on and while I am on my trip. So you can know what I am doing and how to be praying for my team and the countries we visit.  Additionally, I will be fundraising $17,700 for this trip to be possible and if you feel lead, I would love to invite you to be apart of my support team financially.
